The Fremantle resident who started Out of the Box Biz in January, said she would take her clients back to basics ” ‘away from social media’ ” to reach success.

‘The arts industry has gone through a really tough time and I had a fantastic six years,’ Ms Allen said. ‘Interactive Arts was the business where I learnt to be in business and I’m using that structure for Out of the Box Biz.’

Ms Allen also started a business networking group in Fremantle last year, prompting her to establish a network of up to 120 people.

‘Face-to-face meetings to develop long- term relationships builds rapport and trust faster than any email newsletter or social media campaign,’ she said.

‘Business networking will generate new, long-term clients consistently; all it takes is a little education and experience to achieve profitable results.’

Out of the Box Biz has 35 members from a wide range of occupations.

There will be up to 12 events a year ” one a month ” that will include a guest speaker as well as ‘efficient and effective networking’.

The events will take place in Bentley.
