Ms Chidgzey said that from a technical perspective the class was similar to RPM but LA Fit instructors focused on the mental side of the workout.

“That’s a huge part of what we’re trying to do – mind-body connection. We want to take people on a journey, come in and feel better when they leave,” she said.

Ms Cuypers said they set the challenge at 20 rides in five weeks so it was attainable but still challenging.

“If you’re coming in here four times a week you’ll get great results and feel the change,” she said.

“This challenge is about coming to a class and giving it your all; it’s not based on numbers.”

Instructors will award points for attending, the hardest rider and the best energy, with the overall winner receiving an international holiday.
