Springboard to business success

The mother of a one-year-old started MiPlan in 2010 with her husband Robert out of their western suburbs home, before expanding from two to seven employees and moving to a West Perth office.

‘Since November 2010, we’ve got engaged, married, had a child and started a business,’ Mrs Daw said.

The couple, who both worked in mining, started the business after becoming frustrated with existing systems.

Mrs Daw was among eight female business founders selected from a shortlisted 56 around Australia for the international program established 12 years ago.

‘It’s like a business tick of approval at a global level,’ she said.

‘It’s a mentor program over three months but you’re part of the network for life.

‘We have five Australian clients but are looking to expand to the US and Europe in the next couple of years.’

The Daws are working on relaunching MiPlan later this year.
