Presets, Hermitude and Art vs Science all set to perform at Ice Cream Factory Summer Festival

Staff WriterWestern Suburbs Weekly

After a massive season last December, the wildly unique Ice Cream Factory Summer Festival is back in Northbridge and bringing some serious artists including The Presets, Hermitude and Art vs Science for three weeks from December 14 through to New Year’s Day.

With a totally reimagined venue design, the Ice Cream Factory will come alive with more than 12 unique zones and seven music stages – including a new tricked up main stage inside The Factory for live acts and a glowing Igloo Stage for global rhythms and afrobeat DJs.

Showcasing a handful of local eateries and bars, this season will see pop-ups from Tiny’s, Mechanics’ Institute and Jack Rabbit Slim’s, plus pizza by the slice from Lucy’s Love Shack and some of Perth’s best dumplings in the steamer from Shy John Brewery and Yum Cha.

Ice Cream Factory guests will also enjoy direct access to Perth’s newest rooftop bar, Coconut Grove.

Other hot spots on site include The Pimm’s Pergola, The Corona Beach (yes, a beach) featuring a sand dance floor, palm trees and volleyball court, The Riviera with remote control boat racing, a gin experience bar from The West Winds built high up on a viewing deck with sweeping city views, and the Canadian Club Bar complete with seat swings and deck chairs.

Adding to the excitement is The Dream Swinger ride, the aptly named Single Serve mini ping pong arena, and a drool-worthy Selfie Lane so you can pimp your profile brought to you by the dating gurus over at Bumble.

Bar Pop is also bringing their infamous backyard parties and will be relocating their urban orchard archway to the Ice Cream Factory.

With lush trees, planter boxes with plenty of seating, the archway will be one of the best spots on site to kick back and enjoy a relaxed pint.

When it comes to music, Ice Cream Factory’s not mucking around. With seven stages and programming to include an array of genres, fans have plenty of choices.
