WHILE we are staying at home to do our bit to flatten the curve, streaming services are thankfully here to take our minds off the outside world for an hour or two.

Paddington’s indefatigable positivity and kindness and the bright and colourful world of this family classic are a much needed tonic.

Then jump straight into the sequel to see Hugh Grant in what has been called his finest role.

Legally Blonde – Stan

Before Legally Blonde 3 comes out (hopefully) later this year, remind yourself of why the original film holds up as hilarious, fun and insanely quotable.

While Legally Blonde is a rom com of sorts, at heart it is a story of female empowerment, friendship and not being afraid to be ambitious.

Pride – SBS On Demand

Pride tells the true story of when in the 1980’s a group of gay and lesbian activists joined with Welsh miners against a common foe, Margaret Thatcher.

The Brits are experts at the feel good and heartwarming and with an incredible cast including Imelda Staunton, Bill Nighy and hot priest himself Andrew Scott, this film perfectly hits the spot.

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day – Stan

Just before WWII hit, London socialites were still living it up jazz and martini style.

In this delightful fast paced romp, impoverished governess Miss Pettigrew (Frances McDormand) mistakenly finds herself under the employ of actress Delysia Lafosse (Amy Adams) who is trying to stop her three boyfriends from finding out about each other.

Studio Ghibli – Netflix

There are few movies more immersive than those made by this Japanese animation studio.

Take your pick from almost every Studio Ghibli film but for the ultimate feel good vibes try Kiki’s Delivery Service, Howl’s Moving Castle or My Neighbor Totoro.
