SCARBOROUGH designer Lauren Chaplin is hoping for a hole in one when she combines her love of golf and fashion as part of the WA Open’s Ladies Long Luncheon at Mt Lawley Golf Club on October 27.
The LJ Chaplin designer will unveil her latest collection an ode to the warmer seasons.
“This collection it is all about keeping with traditional prints that never date such as polka dots and pin stripes and mixing it up with a pop of the on trend colour of mint,” she said.
“This is the Summer to take a colour risk and I want people to feel confident again about wearing colour to work.
“It is always very easy to stick with a black or navy dress – which don’t get me wrong always has a place in a women’s wardrobe, however this time I was inspired with blue and green hues and so introducing mint as the staple colour was a bold choice.
“ Spring is a season where bright colours are a welcomed inclusion after a dreary winter.”
The event which will include a pop-up boutique, fashion parade and the WA Open on the green will give those an opportunity to view the sport as well as enjoy the luncheon the 30-year-old said.
“Golf has always been a big part of my life, so being able to collaborate with GolfWA and their flagship tournament, the WA Open created the perfect opportunity to introduce fashion to an audience where at times, fashion rules don’t apply,” she said.
“Who can forget some of the outfits we have seen over the years throughout golf tournaments – the WA Open will be no different so the Ladies Long Luncheon will be a wonderful addition to the festival of golf.”
The WA Open is free community event open to the public October 25 – 28 at Mount Lawley Golf Club.
