Nominations out for 2019 Logie Awards

THERE are just five weeks to go until the stars hit the red carpet for the 61st annual Logie awards.

Nominations for the June 30 awards were announced on Sunday at The Star on the Gold Coast, which will host the ceremony for the second time.

There are four first-time nominations for the Gold Logie this year – comedian Tom Gleeson from the ABC, Sam Mac from Sunrise, Eve Morey from Neighbours and ABC gardening guru Costa Georgiadis.

They are up against the Ten Network’s Amanda Keller, Nine Network’s Rodger Corser and Waleed Aly from The Project.

This year, TV Week unveiled a new category for the most popular television commercial .

An early front runner to snare the gong is Tourism Australia’s hugely popular Dundee: Australia’s Tourism Ad in Disguise.

The ad features some of Australia’s Hollywood hottest stars including the Hemsworth brothers, Margot Robbie and Ruby Rose.

Live voting is back for 2019 allowing fans to most popular categories vote for the Gold and until the end of the red carpet telecast on June 30.
