Yep, Christmas is just four short weeks away, and the search for gifts is more challenging than ever.

Socks for dad? A book for mum? Computer games or tech for the kids?

That’s why we’ve put together a list of the best pre-Christmas markets, where you can pick up beautiful, quirky and unique gifts for your loved ones, and maybe a treat or two for yourself as well.

14. Mt Lawley Christmas Festival, Sunday November 27, 3pm-9pm

Perth College has combined its annual fete with the Festival this year and will have about 30 artisan, food and game stalls between Second and Lawley avenues.

13. East Fremantle Festival, Sunday December 4, 1pm-7pm

With George Street in East Fremantle closed for the day, this event is a festival combining music (this year’s theme is jazz, with songstress Libby Hammer taking centre stage) and market stalls.

12. Scarborough Twilight Market, Saturday November 26, 3.30pm-8.30pm

Located at Scarborough Primary School (60 Hinderwell Street), the market features hand-made, homegrown goods with live music, gourmet food and drinks.


11. Perth Upmarket, Sunday November 27, 10am-4pm

The market, at UWA’s Winthrop Hall, brings together more than 200 of Perth’s most talented artists, designers, craftsmen and gourmets all under one roof.


10. Joondalup Twilight Markets, Friday nights from November 25-December 16, 5.30pm-9pm

Taking place at Central Walk, in Joondalup City Centre, the market will feature stalls selling a range of quality items such as fresh and packaged gourmet food, fashion, jewellery, arts, crafts, homewares and giftwares. There will also be live music entertainment and roaming performers.


9. Vines Resort Xmas Night Market, Friday December 2, 6pm-9pm

Set in the beautiful surrounds of The Vines Resort and Country Club, this open-air market is the perfect place for a spot of Christmas shopping plus a mean and a drink afterwards.

8. MiLi Markets at Marila (Point Peron), Sunday December 4, 3pm-7pm

A market in the beautiful gardens of the Rockingham Navy Club on Point Peron Road, there will be 40 stalls, live music, food vans, free kid’s activities all in a beachside location.


7. Wellard Twilight Christmas Market, Saturday December 10, 5pm-8pm

There will be plenty of stalls, perfect for Christmas gift shopping, as well as a Winter Wonderland at John Wellard Community Centre. There will also be gingerbread making, a Christmas Selfie photo booth, the Rotary Club of Kwinana BBQ and you can even post a letter to Santa.


6. Xmas Mega Market at Curtin Uni, Saturday December 17, 10am-2pm

This market, at the Curtin Stadium Gym, will provide a great change to finish off your Christmas shopping, with the very best from WA creatives, homewares, men’s and women’s fashion, children’s clothing, handmade goods, candles, food vans and more.


5. Maiden Markets Indoor Xmas Market, Sunday December 18, 11am-5pm

Located at the Morley Sports and Recreation Centre, Corner of Wellington Road and Mangini Street, there will be more than 50 stalls full of Perth brands to help you support local business this Christmas. There will also be food and coffee vans on site as well as Freedom Fairies sending in the Christmas Fairy for face painting plus an appearance by Santa.



4. Curious Collective Market, Sunday December 11, 10am-2pm

The Curious Collective Market is a place to explore stalls from passionate local small businesses. Located indoors at the City of Melville Main Hall in Booragoon (behind Garden City), there’s free parking in front of the venue but no ATMs onsite so get cashed up before you swing by.


3. The Ladybird Market, Saturday November 26, 9am-5pm

The Ladybird Market Pop Up Event is back at Lakeside Joondalup this Saturday November 26. The market features more than 30 stalls from Perth small businesses and creatives. Among the items on sale will be jewellery, accessories, clothing, candles, plants, kids clothing and accessories, artwork, unique handmade items, sweet treats, styled displays and much more.

2. Perth Makers Market Christmas Market, Saturday-Sunday December 10-11, 10am-6pm

This two-day market at Elizabeth Quay lets you explore a huge variety of individually hand-crafted wares, from handmade woodwork and crafted candles, to tasty treats and beautiful jewellery. You are sure to find something for everyone on your Christmas gifts list. Adding to the vibrant community atmosphere are bustling food and drink stalls serving up all the favourites, plus live entertainment.


1. Fremantle Bazaar, December 2-4,  5pm-10pm Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday

WA’s best Christmas market takes over the Fremantle Arts Centre for a three-day shopping extravaganza with more than 50 local artisans showcasing their wares. At Bazaar you’ll find unique WA-designed jewellery, fashion, ceramics, sculpture, woodwork, textiles and more. The annual market runs from Friday night until Sunday afternoon and is the perfect place to pick up one-of-a-kind gifts for loved ones this Christmas.
