Radio ratings rise for Perth station

PERTH’s radio station 96FM continues its growth as it climbs up the ranks to nab the number two station overall.

96FM’s ratings in the second half of 2019 were up by two per cent to 12.7 per cent, in the radio ratings survey released today.

The station overtook Mix94.5, which had a drop in ratings to 10.9 per cent, but was still beaten by Nova, which remained the most popular station at 13.5 per cent.

Both Nova and Mix94.5 dropped in ratings and Triple J’s ratings dropped to 6.8 per cent overall.

Botica’s Bunch for Breakfast was up at 9.3 per cent, a 0.9 per cent rise from the previous survey, but Nova’s Nathan, Nat & Shaun remained in the lead for the Breakfast time slot with 14.6 per cent.

Nova held the top spot for Drive with Kate, Tim and Marty on 15.0 per cent, while 96 FM landed in second place with 11.8 per cent for Will and Woody.

96FM’s managing director Gary Roberts said the team was off to the pub to celebrate the increased statistics.

“Great talent and Real Music has resulted in Number One Workdays and Weekends with the team achieving the best result for 96FM in over a decade with our overall share up five per cent in the last three surveys,” he said.

6PR leads the way on AM, being number one for Breakfast, Drive and overall AM station.
