THERE’S a disturbing new viral video trend circulating online but it isn’t kids behind it this time – it involves parents.
Multiple videos have cropped up on social media of the “cheese challenge”.
This viral challenge involves taking a piece of sticky processed cheese and throwing it at a baby’s head.
The babies in the videos react in a variety of ways – some are shocked, some laugh and some don’t react at all.
This trend started with the Twitter user @unclehxlmes throwing a slice of processed cheese at an infant he said was his little brother.
However, as the video became popular he revealed that he had found the video on Facebook.
He has since removed the video and apologised to the infant’s family.
However, before he deleted the video it had more than 10.3 million views and 258,000 retweets.
It sparked numerous copycat videos.
People without babies even filmed themselves throwing cheese at their pet’s head.

But just because you can, does it mean you should?
Many social media users find it disturbing that people out there are making babies cry for the sake of going viral on the internet.
Some videos show footage of clearly disturbed babies.

Other videos are borderline child abuse.
