THE St John of God Foundation will raise money for ovarian cancer research, when they hold A Night on the Swan next week.
The event, in its third year, will be held at Acqua Viva on the Swan on October 19 and will include a night of gourmet food and wine.
Event founder and St John of God oncologist Jason Tan said gynaecological cancer had no research funding in WA until about five years ago.
“There was a need to raise money,” Dr Tan said.
“Every bit of funds raised are used efficiently to place research where it’s important. It’s not just about finding a cure for cancer, but knowing about the die-effects of cancer treatment, and its psychological or sexual impact.”
The fundraising event will also include a fine furniture and art exhibition sale featuring local WA artists.
A Night on the Swan will be held on October 19 at Acqua Viva on the Swan in Nedlands.
Tickets are $55. To purchase tickets or for more information visit www.nightontheswan.wordpress.com
