COAST Ward councillor Kate McKerracher is Town of Cambridge’s next deputy mayor.

Council voted for Cr McKerracher to replace Cr Rod Bradley in the position at a special council meeting last week.

She and recently elected councillor Gary Mack were the two nominees for the role.

Mayor Keri Shannon was sworn in at the meeting alongside re-elected Coast Ward councillors Bradley and Andres Timmermanis, and new Wembley Ward councillors Kate Barlow, Alaine Haddon-Casey and Mack.

All members were elected unopposed.
