AN alleged boy burglar fell into a swimming pool before a dramatic citizen’s arrest during a series of Cottesloe break-ins on the weekend.

The sodden boy was found by the female homeowner after she chased one of his two accomplices – both boys – from her house on Forrest Street about 1pm last Saturday.

The woman was upstairs when she heard a rear window being smashed and attempts to unlock a front door after its adjacent panel was broken.

Senior Constable Belinda Crafford said the woman saw three boys and chased one towards the station.

She came back to find a boy in her backyard taking white socks off his hands.

She held onto the intruder before a neighbour arrived.

“He was soaking wet because he has fallen into the pool when he tried to get over the fence,” Snr Const Crafford said.

A blue backpack nearby contained a large amount of coins and cash from a neighbour’s house.

Snr Const Crafford said the boy might have gone next door and fallen in the pool while the woman was chasing his accomplice.

The neighbour called police, who charged a Noranda boy with stealing.

He will appear in the Perth Children’s Court at a later date.

A search continues for his accomplices, who are both described as dark-skinned.
