Anzac spirit burns bright

Subiaco Returned and Services League (RSL) sub-branch secretary Richard Diggins said the minor hitch meant that nearby streets could also enjoy the procession.

About 800 people attended the 8am service at Rankin Gardens, including Subiaco Mayor Heather Henderson, Nedlands MLA Bill Marmion and Subiaco RSL president Dennis Williams. In her closing address, Mrs Henderson said the story of the Anzacs gave a deeper understanding of what it meant to be Australian.

"The Anzac spirit is a flame that burns evermore in the heart of every Australian and New Zealander," she said.
