Art, big and small, on show at Presbyterian Ladies’ College Old Collegians’ Association exhibition

The 2012 graduate and Cottesloe resident will exhibit her miniature artwork featuring rowers on the river this month, along with more than 60 artists.

“Last year I exhibited larger artwork as well as doing the miniatures,” she said. “I don’t usually do miniatures but they are easy to whip together.

“I think they are a great idea because people who want to support the old collegians and come to the exhibit make a smaller purchase and get a really nice piece of artwork.”

Louise Farnay, an international exhibiting veteran of 20 years, will also exhibit her artwork featuring birds and the beach.

“I’ve always worked with oil and kind of mixed media; I put some resin on this time,” she said. “I am very much a lover of the beach and swimming.

“With my birds artwork, I painted these in City Beach where there are birds all around.”

Ms Farnay described her work at last year’s exhibit as “bigger and darker” than this year.

“This is more colourful and more fun, pretty loose,” she said.

Hundreds of artworks in this year’s exhibition will be on display in the new Senior School foyer from May 13-15 and will consist of a selection of sculpture, photography, paintings, jewellery and glassware, with all items for sale.

Tickets are now available for the cocktail event opening night on Friday, May 13 at the early bird price of $40 at www.trybooking.com/KZLL.

Tickets are also available at the door for $45.

The exhibition continues throughout the weekend from 10am–4pm with entry by gold coin donation.
