AUSTRALIANS have paid tribute to former Prime Minister Bob Hawke in the most Aussie way possible by having a beer for Bob.

Using the hashtag #beersoutforbob and #beerforbob social media users posted videos of themselves sculling a drink.

Giant of Australian politics Bob Hawke dies

Bob Hawke was known for his love of a beer and once held a Guinness World Record for sculling a yard glass in 11 seconds while he was at Oxford University.

Even Kyle Sandilands got in on the action.
