Barber shop fires: police seek information

ARSON squad detectives are seeking information on two deliberately lit fires in barber shops.

On February 4, about 4am, someone smashed the glass front door of a barber shop on Cecil Avenue, Cannington.

The offender set fire to the shop, which was destroyed with damage estimated at $500,000, before leaving in a dark-coloured four-wheel drive.

The shop had been targeted previously, with a four-wheel drive being used to ram a shutter door in January.

Then, on Tuesday April 12, someone broke into a barber shop on Cambridge Street in Wembley, setting it alight and causing about $150,000 worth of damage.

There are significant rewards on offer for anyone with any information on the fires.

They are asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online.
