Speaking to Year 9 students from Newman College this month, Professor Beazley said there were endless career opportunities for young students interested in science.
With world population growth taking off, science and technology will help us in all of the key areas for us to live, including agriculture, energy, environmental protection and human health, Professor Beazley said.
Im passionate about sharing my enthusiasm for science and showing people how it fits into society, into industry, government and community.
WA is a great place to study science.
Newman College head of science Brad Young said the students absorbed everything Professor Beazley said.
Students were well informed and entertained by the lucid examples of scientific endeavour currently taking place in WA and beyond, Mr Young said.
The curriculum offers a wide range of courses that promote both the traditional sciences, as well as some such as psychology that are relatively new to WA and have genuine appeal for students.
