AFTER sweating it out over the weekend in sweltering conditions, Perth was hit by a reprieve today.

It was an uncomfortable weekend, with a top of 39.1 degrees on Saturday and 41.8 on Sunday.

But it was a far more comfortable start to the working week, with the mercury reaching 29 degrees at 2.30pm today.

And the temperatures will continue to fall over the next couple of days, with a late shower tipped for tomorrow and a top of 26 degrees.

You might even need a jumper on Wednesday, with a top of 21.

There is also the chance of rain for hump day, with as much as 4mm possible.

From there the temperature is set to climb again, with 24 the top for Thursday, 27 tipped for Friday before a perfect 28 degrees with blue skies for Australia Day.
