Building on imagination at library Lego club

‘Lego is pretty much the most awesome toy ever,’ the Subiaco Primary School student said. ‘The best thing we have ever built was the castle with turrets at the top that looked like eyes ” it was like a battle between good and bad.’

Subiaco Library youth services technician Jane Douglas said she formed Lego Club in February to encourage children to have fun and ‘let their imaginations go wild’.

‘My kids are all grown up now, but they were real Lego boys when they were younger,’ Ms Douglas said.

‘I’ve met such fantastic kids and wonderful parents; the club is often the highlight of my week.’

Ms Douglas said the club helped foster creativity, problem solving, friendships and, best of all, a love of reading.

Subiaco Library Lego Club runs on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3.30pm during the school term.
