Bunnings calls it quits in Cottesloe

Jon BassettWestern Suburbs Weekly

BUNNINGS Cottesloe will close on June 30, exiting a year early from its lease at The Grove shopping centre.

“With the lease at the small Cottesloe store coming to an end next year, we took the opportunity to look at our local store network needs,” Bunnings WA operation manager Hayley Coulsen told communitynews.com.au this afternoon.

“With our larger and newer Claremont store able to service customers with the widest range we have made the decision to focus our local operations out of this location.”

Asked if the store has met trading targets, Mrs Coulsen said it was profitable.

The Claremont warehouse is just 4km north of the Cottesloe site on Stirling Highway.

The 23 Cottesloe staff would be offered new jobs at that site or other branches closer to their homes across Perth.

Ms Coulsen said Bunnings would continue to invest in the Claremont store.
