THE CAT Haven’s annual street appeal is coming up on September 14.

The fundraiser sees volunteers take to the streets with tins, dressed in orange and adorned in cat ears.

Marketing and communication officer Chandra Woodley said the Haven relied on donations for the majority of their funding.

“We’re aiming for a record of $10,000 – that would pay for many, many cats to be sterilised, be treated for worms and fleas, the operations that we do on cats that come in with issues, and help get them rehomed,” she said.

The charity is also looking for a helping hand with collecting coins across all suburbs and areas.

“We’re calling for people to come and volunteer to be tin shakers on the day,” she said.

“We need as many people out there on the streets as possible – if you could just do an hour, that would be fantastic.”
