CCTV has caught a bike thief in Claremont

POLICE have released CCTV images of a man stealing a bike in Bernard Street, Claremont, several hours after nearby Claremont Bowling Club was broken into, both overnight on February 10.

“Given time frames this can’t be linked as the bowling Club suspect, but obviously can’t be ruled out,” Detective-Sergeant Paul Vojkovich said.

The bike was taken at 6.50am, after a security screen has been removed and front window smashed, but nothing taken, at the club between 8.30pm and 1.15am the previous evening.

The man was described as Caucasian, who wore a black cap, grey singlet, dark sports shorts, white earphones and had a black wristband or bandage.
