CAR fanatics will be in their top gears for the annual charity Celebration of the Motorcar at the Cottesloe Civic Centre this Sunday.

“This annual car event showcases the best of the best cars, and this year 150 cars, by invitation, will be displayed in support of Wheels for Hope,” event director Paul Blank said.

The show will feature rare examples of Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche, Ferrari and Bentley marques.

Mr Blank said car fams will be able to see the multi-million dollar new Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta and the unique Renault Twizy runabout.

“A rare De Tomaso Guara will be displayed with less than 1000km on its odometer from new, and it is the sole example in the southern hemisphere of the Italian brand’s last model,” he said.

America will be represented by a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette that is one of the first 100 made, before it was imported to WA early this year, while the British 1937 Humber Imperial on display was delivered to King Edward VIII before he abdicated.

The Celebration of the Motorcar will be open from 10.30am to 3.30pm at the Cottesloe Civic Centre.
