The month-long event raises awareness and funds towards developing an early detection test for ovarian cancer.
The Churchlands resident said she was eager to participate as the cause was close to her heart.
‘My grandma had ovarian cancer and only one in five women survive,’ Miss Burchfield. I rang her on October 1, when I decided to take part, and I think she was very proud.’

‘I’ve really loved how I can do something really easy and something I love, getting dressed up, and help make a difference,’ Miss Burchfield said.
She is $257 under her donation goal and plans to reach it by continuing to campaign with friends and family.
Miss Burchfield said social media had been very helpful and she personally contacted everyone who donated to set herself apart.
‘I think it’s been really successful, just trying to connect with people of what their donation means. I’ve been contacting people to personally thank them for their donation otherwise it’s hard to distinguish yourself,’ Miss Burchfield said.
