CITY of Nedlands Ranger Daniel Sharples has been named WA Ranger of the Year.
Presented by the WA Rangers Association, the award recognises deeds and achievements of Rangers who go over and above their call of duty.
Away from his Nedlands role, Mr Sharples does volunteer speaking engagements for BeyondBlue and talks about his experience with depression.
He continues to raise awareness and encourage people to seek help.
“I had experience with depression, which I had generally ignored for most of my 20s,” he said.
“Fortunately, I was able to get help with my mental health in my later 20s and have found it has turned my life around immeasurably.
“People living with mental health issues can find it difficult to undertake these challenges and it’s important they have support to help them realise their potential.”
