CITY of Nedlands is warning residents to watch out for a fake planning scheme flyer circulating in Mt Claremont.

The false information relates to proposed changes to draft Local Planning Scheme No. 3 (LPS3).

The flyer contains incorrect details about possible changes to residential densities, commonly known as ‘R-Codes’.

City of Nedlands chief executive Greg Trevaskis said it was important people accessed correct information on the matter.

“Draft LPS3 proposes an increase in density from R10 to R20 in some parts of Mt Claremont with no change to the existing maximum height permitted,” Mr Trevaskis said.

“The flyer naturally does not identify those responsible and it’s obvious people want to make mischief, rather than rely on truth and accuracy.

“We’re giving people every opportunity to have their say by having a four-month consultation period and using numerous methods to ensure they gain the information they need to know.”

To find out more and see whether your property may be affected, visit yourvoice.nedlands.wa.gov.au or contact the City’s Strategic Planning Team on 9273 3500.

The public comment period on draft LPS3 ends on March 29 at 5pm.
