City of Subiaco assigns new contractor to Lake Jualbup project

A NEW contractor has been assigned to the Lake Jualbup project after BCL Group collapsed.

The urgent matter was discussed behind closed doors at Subiaco’s council meeting on Tuesday night.

The balance of the tender was awarded to Civcon Civil Project Management for the lump sum of $689,216, based on their submission for the completion of the two redevelopment zones at the Shenton Park lake.

Funds will be reallocated in the March budget review for any budget shortfall.

The decision was carried unanimously by councillors, with Mayor Penny Taylor absent for the item after declaring a proximity interest.

The City is still waiting on test results from the area following the recent deaths of turtles and birds.
