City of Subiaco review submissions from second local planning public comment period

Victoria RificiWestern Suburbs Weekly

CITY of Subiaco received about 300 submissions during a second public consultation period on its modified Local Planning Scheme No. 5 (LPS5).

The City decided to have a second round of public comment, lasting 60 days, on the areas modified in the scheme in February.

Concerns raised in the submission period include questions over boundaries between higher and lower densities within the modified LPS5.

Mayor Penny Taylor said all submissions from the community would be forwarded to the Western Australian Planning Commission, along with the modified LPS5 scheme, including any further modifications endorsed by the City.

“Our community has been further consulted, and while some are not happy, I’m hearing from many people that it’s a scheme that is modest and gives certainty, and they want council to get on with it,” she said.
