SUBIACO residents will have the opportunity to put e-waste in the right place and recycle at the City of Subiaco’s Waste Depot on November 17.The initiative, part of National Recycling Week, is part of the City of Subiaco and Western Metropolitan Regional Council’s free e-waste drop-off day.
Western Metropolitan Regional Council’s (WMRC) chief executive Stefan Frodsham, said unwanted or broken computers, printers and TVs could be dropped off from 10am to 4pm.
“The e-waste drop off day will ensure valuable resources are being reused or recycled, and not sent to landfill,” Mr Frodsham said.
“Items such as televisions and computers contain valuable resources and almost 95% of e-waste materials are recyclable and some elements like gold and platinum will be reused.”
Subiaco Mayor Penny Taylor said the free drop off day was an important reminder about how to correctly dispose of e-waste items.
“The City of Subiaco is pleased to host WMRC’s first community e-waste drop off day,” Ms Taylor said.
“I encourage Subiaco residents and those who live in our neighbouring local governments to get their old electronics ready for drop off day.”
