Claremont: Bindaring Clothing sales raises hundreds of thousands for Red Cross

THE 54th Bindaring Clothing sale raised $224,000 for the Red Cross on Saturday.

Shoppers queued outside Robinson Pavilion at the Claremont Showground waiting for the doors to open at 9am, many arriving when it was still dark to secure items they had seen on the Bindaring Instagram account.

“We’ve had fantastic support all round this year with more donations than ever before and an incredible team of volunteers to sort the clothes and run the sale,” Bindaring Unit President Veronica Morrissey said.

More than 9.5 tons of clothing donations had been sorted and included designer brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada and Armani.
