CRACKS large enough to be visible from the air have appeared on the rescue boat slipway and steps in front of the Indiana Restaurant after four days of storm-induced erosion at Cottesloe Beach.

Drone images taken by the Western Suburbs Weekly showed the damage this morning.

There has been a complete loss of sand that exposed buried rock shelves in front of the Cottesloe Council-leased building.

Yesterday, erosion consultant Garry Baverstock said all the recent erosion along Cottesloe’s beaches was a warning, and more would occur if a storm and spring tides combined in August.

The slipway and steps have been fenced off, and both the council and Indiana-leasee Minderoo Group have been contacted for comment.
