NEW concept images for Subiaco Oval and the former Princess Margaret Hospital site were released on Saturday, providing a first glimpse of the future rejuvenated Subi East precinct.

The precinct, spanning over 35.6 hectares of land, will incorporate surrounding areas including Subiaco Oval, Princess Margaret Hospital, the Inner City College and West Leederville train station.

Subi East’s ‘vision concept’ images feature a connected community, with strong transport links, walking and cycling paths and a network of landscaped green spaces linking it to surrounding areas.

The redevelopment area is set to bring more homes closer to the Perth CBD, train station and schools.

Planning Minister Rita Saffioti said consultation undertaken to date proved strong community support for revitalising Subiaco.

“The diverse range of housing options being considered for the development will help thousands of people from all walks of life to get their foot on the property ladder,” she said.

“Hundreds of local jobs will be created during the development phase, and the local economy will be bolstered by a new residential and school community together with the growth opportunities that come with them.”
