The family day care centre operator of 16 years said while the condition ‘was not the easiest option’, it would allow her to continue the work she loved.

Claremont councillors reversed a staff recommendation to reject the application because of a lack of parking at a meeting last month, however they issued a requirement that Ms Currall transport the children to and from her home each day.

The approval is valid for a year.

‘It’s been six months since I closed my business and I love my job so much I will do whatever I have to,’ Ms Currall, who previously operated the family day care in Jarrad Street, Cottesloe, said.

Several former clients, including prominent real estate agent Frank Torre, presented glowing references for the childcare worker.
