CONSTRUCTION is well underway on Subiaco’s $70.6 million Inner City College development.

The Inner City College will open its doors in 2020 to the first group of 250 Year Seven students, mostly comprised of students from the local area, with 32 places for gifted and talented students from across the state.

“I’m looking forward to getting the keys towards the end of November in 2019 so it’s all on schedule at the moment,” foundation principal John Burke said.

Mr Burke took up the position of the new school’s leader in July and is currently preparing for its 2020 opening.

“Stage One is currently being built including the main administration, the technologies building and the sports hall,” he said.

Mr Burke said the decision on the school’s name was still unmade.

“We’re currently going through the public consultation process, and there will be an announcement of the name made in due course,” he said.
