COTTESLOE police want to speak to a man captured by CCTV when a bicycle was stolen from Mosman Park train station about 1pm on April 20.

“He was a dark-skinned man with a pony tail, wearing white sneakers, blue jeans and a black jacket and a Holden hat,” Senior Sergeant Tony Booker said.

Sgt Booker’s officers are targeting a recent rise in crime in the area .

“Current crime statistics have shown a significant increase in volume crime offences, including burglaries and stealing from vehicles, particularly in Mosman Park and Cottesloe areas,” Sgt Booker said.

His officers and those from other stations have been patrolling streets in the suburbs near locations of suspected offenders.

“Using a plain vehicle and officers in plain clothes, a number of well-known addresses of prolific volume crime offenders, and known drug dealers were targeted with the marked vehicles conducting patrols of nearby streets,” Sgt Booker said.

During patrols last week, vehicles driven to and from the addresses of suspects were stopped, 34 random breath tests conducted, 25 car searched and 15 traffic cautions issued.

A Swanbourne woman (27) was charged with an alleged blood alcohol level of 0.225 per cent, and she will be summonsed to court at a later date.
