A TRAIL of secondhand donations is needed before the Cottesloe Council and Cancer Support WA-supported Wellness Wonder Sale at the Cancer Wellness Centre next month.
“The idea of recycling clothing and household goods to a new home is a great form of sustainability,” Cottesloe Mayor Jo Dawkins said.
The event is part of the 2010-established Garage Sale Trail supported by more than 150 councils across Australia to encourage reusing the unwanted, bring communities together and identify illegal dumping.
“Another way to show your support is by donating unwanted items including books, clothes, toys and ‘bric-a-brac’ in good condition, to Cancer Support WA, who will sell them at their stall in the centre’s carpark at the sale,” Ms Dawkins said.
For $20, residents and community groups can also have stalls at the sale to raise finds for Cancer Support WA.
“We’re not government funded, and we have relied heavily on community contributions while we have been here for 32 years,” Cancer Support WA client services manager Carol Moates said.
Live entertainment and food will also be provided at the sale at 80 Railway Street, Cottesloe, 9am-1pm on Saturday, October 22.
