A SOUTHERN suburbs councillor has been appointed to a high-ranking position at the Town of Cambridge.
Lawyer Karen Vernon, a Town of Victoria Park councillor since 2017, recently became Cambridge’s governance and legal manager.
Ms Vernon has worked as a lawyer in Perth for nearly 25 years, spending the past 14 years as a barrister at Francis Burt Chambers.

READ NOWShe is also non-executive director at the Stroke Foundation and represents Victoria Park on the Mindarie Regional Council (MRC), which Cambridge mayor Keri Shannon is also part of.
According to Cambridge council minutes, Ms Vernon met Ms Shannon through the MRC in November 2017.
