Crane driver has Perth’s best view

IT might not be for everybody, but we reckon we’ve found the worker with Perth’s best view.

The shy crane driver doesn’t want us to tell you his name, but we can reveal he sits in a cabin above the Scarborough coastline on West Coast Highway, driving the crane on the 10-storey Norup + Wilson-Pyramid Construction Beach Shack apartment development.

It takes him about 15 minutes to get to the top of the 50m crane each morning and he avoids coming down until the day’s work is finished.

“He doesn’t have a coffee before he starts,” quipped a site supervisor, knowing that could mean an unwanted toilet break.
