AFTER growing his locks for three years, Obi Rogers is preparing to take on the World’s Greatest Shave.

Nine-year-old Obi will have his head shaved on Tuesday, March 13, at Dalkeith Primary School along with some fellow students taking on the challenge to shave, colour or cut their hair.

“At school two years ago lots of kids with long hair were doing it; I just really wanted to do it,” Obi said.

Now that he has grown his hair past the 35cm needed to make a wig for cancer patients, this is Obi’s year.

Obi’s father Paul said once his son had made up his mind to do the shave, he was eager to get the ball rolling.

“Obi went to the school and instigated it,” Mr Rogers said.

The students have gathered a whopping $8000 in donations so far to assist the Leukaemia Foundation.
