The West Coast Eagles star said Multiple Sclerosis Society of WA’s (MSWA) second-annual Stadium Stair Race would give football fans and fitness fanatics the opportunity to explore the oval like never before.

“All the supporters who sit here in the stands and watch games now have a chance to run all over the stadium stands and in the VIP areas,” Kennedy said.

“They even get to go through the Fremantle Dockers’ changerooms, which is pretty cool. Everyone ends up on the turf at the end, which not many people get to say they have done.”

During his four years as MSWA ambassador, Kennedy said he had learnt a lot about what people with MS had to deal with every day.

“One of the things I have realised is that you take a lot of things for granted,” he said.

“The willpower and strength that these people living with MS have is unbelievable.

“We have a fundraising target of $50,000 this year and I’m hoping we can get that. The majority of the money goes towards research and finding a cure, which is the goal one day.”

MSWA spokesman George Pampacos said there was a great family-friendly environment when he took part in the inaugural Stadium Stair Race last year.

“It is a really fun event without any massive competition or pressure,” he said. “I’m doing the full climb, and I will be convincing my whole family to take part as well.”
