Family taps into area

Olympic gymnast and Commonwealth Games silver medallist Olivia Vivian is the driving force behind The Leaky Tap café, while Gill and son Trent Vivian have opened Vivian’s Residential Real Estate next door.

Gill’s pomeranians Rustina and Chester also come to work each day and are enjoying their new digs and the extra attention from the customers.

‘We didn’t tell anyone that we had opened, but it has been a mad rush all week,’ Olivia said.

‘The kids love the chairs (remodelled from toilets) and Mum’s already run up a huge tab.’

The cafe interior carries a plumbing theme as a tribute to her late dad Craig, a well-known plumber in Mosman Park and Cottesloe.

Many of the taps and pipes on display were sourced from Craig’s old work shed.

Proud mum Gill, a long-time Cottesloe resident, said it was heart-warming to see the family name continue in the area.

‘Craig was the third generation in his family to run the plumbing business,’ she said.
