GET a taste of summer when the inaugural Utopian Night Market kicks off in Floreat on Friday.

With a warm day forecast, it promises to be the perfect night to enjoy a picnic dinner at Perry Lakes Reserve.

Choose from about 30 food trucks selling food and tasty treats from around the globe and browse market stalls selling items including jewellery, beauty products, clothing and giftware.

There will be children’s entertainment, activities, live music, a pop-up bar and on-leash dogs are welcome.

Organiser Peter Jenkins said he wanted to provide an easy option for families to go out together.

“We’ve confirmed a diverse mix of the best food trucks and market stall food vendors to create a real hawkers market vibe,” he said.

There will be more than 30 food trucks serving a variety of dishes.

“The mind-blowing line up of performers across the program includes musicians, performers, face painters, balloon twisters, stilt walkers, Connect 4 zone, Yin Yoga, buskers and plenty more surprises.

“In a restaurant you’re constantly watching the kids, so this event offers families a great way to meet with friends and family whilst the young ones have space to run around.”

The first market is on November 15 from 5pm to 9pm and continues until the end of April, with a break from December 13 to January 17.
