The youngsters will take part in the eighth annual Spring Forward Kids Fun Run at the WA Athletics Stadium in Mt Claremont, with organisers hoping to break last year’s record of 600 participants.
There are eight race categories from under 5s to under 18s, with distances ranging from 100m to 5km.
The school with the most participants will receive the Spring Forward Perpetual Trophy, which was introduced in 2009.
Money raised from the September 20 fun run will help the 112-year-old non-profit organisation provide care and treatment for children and young people.
