THE Gold Stealing Detection squad is investigating the discovery of a gold bar found by cleaners in an East Victoria Park property last month.
The apparent unstamped lump of gold-coloured metal was found on March 18 and handed to Cottesloe police five days later.
A police spokeswoman said although the 22cm-long, 5cm-wide bar look similar to melted down gold, it had to be analysed before making any assumption about its composition.
