Good news of artist’s selection travels fast

“I was at school alone in homework club when I found out, so I ran to her and told her that I got in,” the International School of WA student said.

“I was really excited, and she was the one who nominated me for it, so she was really happy as well.”

Visual artist Coeli is one of six selected for the 2016 PIAF Young Creatives, designed to provide mentorship and resources to young people looking to build a career in the arts.

The City Beach resident will find time between her Year 12 studies to help install a large-scale Sean E. Avery mural at Perth Writers Festival, The Secret Garden at PICA, Gurlgama – Remember Me at FORM and attend an illustration master-class.

“I’m really excited to learn from them and their experiences, so I can integrate what they do with what I want to do for my future,” she said.
