WA Food Ambassador Don Hancey will be cooking seafood with two Chinese chefs to promote West Australian produce as part of Gourmet Escape this week.
The Pardoo Beef Corporation is hosting Hongsheng Chen and Guohui Tan for the Gourmet Escape and the pair will be cooking for the second annual Augusta Seafood Discovery Lunch on Friday.
Mr Hancey said green lip abalone would be on the menu and was very popular with the Asian market.
“The Chinese market have realised WA has some of the strictest health and hygiene regulations in the world and we’ve got some of the most sustainable fisheries in the world,” he said.
“So why not buy off fishermen that fish sustainably and value and look after their products.”
