Hair today, wig tomorrow

Staff ReporterWestern Suburbs Weekly

The Year 4 Methodist Ladies College student is shaving her long hair this week at a school assembly to raise money as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.

Siena’s shave is particularly special because a specialist will shave her hair so it can be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair from cancer treatments.

‘I don’t mind cutting my hair off if I’m helping someone at the same time,’ she said.

Siena said she was inspired to cut her hair for the World’s Greatest Shave after her 11-year-old brother Lucha took part last year with a team from Christ Church Grammar School.

So far, Siena has raised more than $700 and is hoping to collect more from gold coin donations at the assembly. Search for Siena’s name on the World’s Greatest Shave website, www.worldsgreatestshave.com to donate.
