HALE school student Ben Hamblin has been awarded Curtin University’s most prestigious undergraduate student scholarship.
The Year 12 student received the John Curtin Scholarship for his double degree in engineering and physics, to achieve his dream of a career in technology and software design.
Ben received the award for his academic excellence as well as cultural involvement, leadership and community service.
He said he was honoured to receive the award and was looking forward to starting his degree and achieving his goals.
“Ultimately I would like to work with quantum computers,” he said.
The scholarship covers the cost of an undergraduate education at Curtin University by providing an annual stipend of $2000 and covering student fees or providing an annual stipend of $8000, with an additional $6000 for an approved international experience.
