Harvard University acceptance yet to sink in for former Perth Modern School student

FORMER Perth Modern School student Georgia Wheeler says being accepted to Harvard University has not sunk in yet.

The class of 2015 student impressed Harvard recruits with her rowing and academic results.

Georgia met with a Harvard representative in Rio de Janeiro at the World Rowing Junior Championships, who offered to fly her to Boston for a taste of student life.

Georgia said she was looking forward to pursuing her passion for rowing while studying science at one of the best universities in the world.

“When I found out, I couldn’t believe that I’d just been accepted into one of the most prestigious universities in the world,” Georgia said.

“I don’t even think it’s sunk in yet.

“I can honestly say that without the support and efforts of the teachers at Perth Modern School, I wouldn’t be going to Harvard University.”
